Christian Education

Sunday School classes are offered for all ages.

Adults gather on Sundays, coffee cups in hand, for spirited discussions on various topics. Recently, they studied the book of Romans. Seasonal opportunities for adult education have been offered during Lent and Advent. Inquirers' and Confirmation classes are also available for teens and adults.

Young children enjoy the GodVentures program, which uses a combination of song, storytelling, arts and crafts and even, cooking, to teach bibilical stories. They have their own building which boosts a media room, an arts and crafts room and a super-fun tent complete with big pillows for hanging out during storytime.

Here, children receive Sunday School awards:

Teens take part in the Journey to Adulthood program, including Rite 13 and Young Adults in the Church. They meet in the Youth House on Sunday mornings for Sunday School, and on Wednesday gather for "Hang Out Time," where they eat and socialize. In the last 9 nine years, St. Matthias youth have been on 3 separate pilgrimages -- to Iona Scotland, Salisbury England and Rome, Italy.
